Sanding, sanding and more sanding…

I think the most grueling part of an RV renovation is all the sanding. Cabinet doors, drawer fronts, doors, thick trim around the slides, all the interior wood and/or partial board – it’s a lot!

Ryan has been sanding day after day, and he has even recruited a great team to help.

I have been painting. I finished all the drawers and cabinets this week. I primed the fronts and backs, sanded again with 220 grit sand paper, and then painted two coats on each front and back.

I am using Sherwin Williams Dorian Gray for almost all the cabinets, drawers and woodwork throughout the RV. Since we are not changing the shower and it is beige and brown in color, I did not want to use gray for the bathroom cabinets. I chose to go with the beautiful teal color that is on our current front door, which is Sherwin Williams Grand Canal.

We are going to paint all the walls white and the trim around the slides white. I think it’ll give a much more spacious feel.

Slowly but surely, it’s coming together! It will go pretty fast once we finish all the interior sanding and painting. We are looking forward to seeing the end result of the full renovation, and even more looking forward to living in it!
